Biography
Jessica Bohling is an associate attorney in Burns & Hansen’s civil litigation team. Jessica also provides legal representation in cases involving corporate law, real estate, and family law. Jessica brings a valuable dual background in law and social work, which allows her to deeply understand her client’s needs from a variety of perspectives. Jessica’s empathetic yet assertive approach to representation allows her clients to make informed decisions regarding their case and feel confident in their choices. Jessica’s clients understand that she will advocate and educate them on the legal process every step of the way.
Jessica’s professional experience includes significant work in child protection, where she partnered with families, social workers, and the courts to support child safety and well-being. Prior to joining Burns & Hansen, Jessica served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Michelle Hatcher in Minnesota’s Fourth Judicial District’s Juvenile Division. Jessica leverages her understanding of the judicial decision-making process in her practice as an associate attorney to advise her clients.
Jessica graduated from Indiana University in 2023 where she earned a certificate in civil and human rights and engaged in significant pro bono service. Jessica also obtained a Master of Social Work in 2023 from Indiana University School of Social Work with a concentration in community development and leadership. There, she engaged in significant community outreach projects with nonprofits and was a guardian ad litem and court appointed special advocate for divorce and child protection matters. Jessica also has a degree in sociology from Purdue University.
In her spare time, Jessica enjoys spending time with her family and cats, hiking, and painting.
