Each season offers many benefits to individuals living throughout the metropolitan Twin Cities area. While summer and spring are filled with beautiful growth and sunshine, fall brings the perfect colors of autumn as winter offers snow for outdoor fun and games. Unless a homeowner has a specific time that he needs to be out of his house, it can be difficult for a Hennepin County resident to decide when to try to sell a home.
The results of a recent study conducted by the real estate company Redfin were recently published in a real estate trade magazine. Interestingly, the study found that winter is actually the best time of year for sellers to not only move their homes out of the market but to also get the selling prices that they want for their properties. February was identified as the best month for making a home sale in the country.
Readers may be skeptical that the national survey did not adequately account for the sometimes harsh conditions some communities face when the weather turns cold. However, the study found that in cold-weather climates like Boston and Chicago the same trends followed suit as they did in more temperate locations. This likely could translate to good winter home sales for individuals living throughout Hennepin County.
Selling a home, however, isn’t always a straightforward process and most sellers want to maximize their chances of getting interested buyers from the day they list their houses on the market. As it turns out, now may be the best time to start prepping a home for sale. Individuals who would like to learn more about the legal aspects of selling a home in the area can work with attorneys who practice in the area of residential real estate law.
